Pump & Piping Skids

Fliteway designs and fabricates pre-assembled pump and piping skids for environmental remediation applications. Each skid is built on a structural steel frame with pumps, piping, valves, gauges, and electrical components pre-installed and factory-tested for rapid field deployment.

Pre-Assembled, Pre-Tested, Ready to Connect

Pump and piping skids are the backbone of most environmental remediation systems. Whether extracting groundwater from a well field, transferring water between treatment stages, injecting treatment chemicals, or reinjecting treated water, a properly designed pump skid ensures reliable, maintainable operation.

Fliteway pump skids are designed with maintenance access as a top priority. Isolation valves on all connections, union or flange connections at every pump, pressure gauges and flow meters at critical points, and clearly labeled piping and instrumentation. Our skids are built to be operated and maintained by field technicians, not just engineers.

Skid Types

Extraction Pump Skids

Submersible pump controllers, well manifolds, and totalizer stations for groundwater extraction systems. Handle single wells or multi-well networks with individual flow control and monitoring per well.

Transfer Pump Skids

Centrifugal and self-priming pump packages for moving extracted water, treated effluent, or process fluids between tanks and treatment stages. Available with VFD speed control for variable flow applications.

Chemical Feed Skids

Metering pump packages with day tanks, calibration columns, containment, and chemical-resistant piping for caustic, acid, polymer, permanganate, and other treatment chemicals.

Injection Pump Skids

High-pressure and low-pressure injection systems for groundwater reinjection, chemical injection (ISCO/ISCR), and amendment delivery. Designed for the required flow rates, pressures, and injection well configurations.

Multi-Pump Manifolds

Centralized pump and piping manifolds that consolidate flows from multiple extraction wells or distribute flows to multiple treatment streams. Includes individual well control valves and flow measurement.

Sampling & Monitoring Skids

Low-flow sampling pump packages, flow-through cell installations, and in-line monitoring instrument skids for continuous water quality monitoring and compliance sampling.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of pump skids does Fliteway build?
Fliteway builds pump and piping skids for a wide range of environmental remediation applications. Common types include groundwater extraction pump skids (submersible pump controls and manifolds), transfer pump skids for moving water between treatment stages, injection pump skids for chemical injection and groundwater reinjection, chemical feed skids with metering pumps and day tanks, and multi-pump manifold skids for well field extraction systems. Skids are built on structural steel frames with all piping, valves, instrumentation, and electrical components pre-installed and factory-tested.
What pump types does Fliteway work with?
We specify and integrate all major pump types used in environmental remediation: centrifugal pumps (end-suction, self-priming, and vertical turbine) for groundwater extraction and transfer, positive displacement pumps (progressive cavity, gear, and diaphragm) for viscous fluids and product recovery, metering pumps (diaphragm and peristaltic) for chemical feed applications, and submersible pumps for wellhead installations. Pump selection is based on flow rate, total dynamic head, fluid properties, NPSH requirements, and duty cycle for each application.
Can Fliteway build pump skids with VFD speed control?
Yes. Many of our pump skids include variable frequency drives for flow control, energy savings, and soft-start capability. VFD-controlled pump skids can maintain a constant discharge pressure or flow rate regardless of changing well levels or system conditions. We integrate the VFD with PLC controls for automated operation and remote monitoring. For applications where VFDs are not appropriate (such as metering pumps or some positive displacement pumps), we use stroke length and frequency adjustment for flow control.
How are pump skids shipped and installed?
Pump skids are designed for forklift or crane placement with integrated lifting points on the structural steel frame. Standard skid dimensions are kept within flatbed truck shipping limits. All piping terminates at clearly marked connection points (flanged, cam-lock, or threaded unions) for quick field hookup. Electrical connections use junction boxes or quick-disconnect connectors. Field installation typically requires only connecting the skid to site piping, power supply, and instrument signal wiring. Most pump skids can be installed and commissioned in one to two days.
