Ongoing Support

Operations & Maintenance

Fliteway provides long-term operations and maintenance services for environmental remediation systems nationwide. Our O&M programs keep your treatment systems running at peak performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and extend equipment life through proactive maintenance and system optimization.

Keeping Remediation Systems Running

Environmental remediation is a long-term commitment. Treatment systems may operate continuously for years or decades, requiring regular maintenance, monitoring, optimization, and periodic upgrades. Fliteway provides turnkey O&M services that give project managers and environmental consultants confidence that their remediation systems are performing as designed.

Our O&M team includes the same engineers who design and build our treatment equipment. This means maintenance and troubleshooting are performed by people who understand every component of the system — not just generic service technicians reading a manual. When performance issues arise, our engineers can diagnose root causes and implement solutions quickly.

We currently manage O&M programs for remediation systems across multiple states, from small single-blower SVE systems to large multi-process groundwater treatment plants. Our longest running O&M programs span 20+ years of continuous service on the same project sites.

O&M Service Capabilities

Our operations and maintenance programs are tailored to each system and site, with service levels ranging from quarterly inspections to full-time on-site operation.

Routine Maintenance

Scheduled preventive maintenance including blower oil changes, belt and filter replacements, valve exercising, instrument calibration, GAC change-outs, chemical replenishment, and general equipment inspections. Maintenance frequencies based on manufacturer recommendations and site-specific operating conditions.

Performance Monitoring

Collection and reporting of system performance data including flow rates, pressures, temperatures, run hours, contaminant concentrations, and treatment efficiency. Data is compiled into monthly or quarterly O&M reports with trend analysis and recommendations for system optimization.

System Optimization

Ongoing evaluation of system performance to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, reduced operating costs, or accelerated remediation progress. Optimization may include adjusting extraction rates, modifying chemical dosing, rebalancing well networks, or upgrading control strategies.

Remote Monitoring & SCADA

Cellular-connected remote monitoring systems that provide real-time visibility into system operation from any location. Alarm notifications, data logging, trend analysis, and remote setpoint adjustment reduce site visits and improve response time to system upsets.

Equipment Upgrades & Repairs

Replacement of worn or obsolete equipment, control system upgrades, capacity expansions, and technology retrofits. We maintain relationships with all major equipment manufacturers and keep critical spare parts on hand for systems under our O&M programs.

Compliance Reporting

Preparation of regulatory compliance reports, discharge monitoring reports (DMRs), and periodic system performance summaries. We work directly with environmental consultants and regulatory agencies to ensure all monitoring and reporting requirements are met.

How Our O&M Programs Work

  • 1

    System Assessment

We review system design documents, operating history, maintenance records, and current performance data. For systems we did not build, we perform a thorough field inspection to document equipment condition and identify any deferred maintenance or operational issues.

  • 2

    O&M Plan Development

A site-specific O&M plan is developed that defines maintenance tasks and frequencies, performance monitoring parameters, spare parts inventory, emergency response procedures, and reporting requirements.

  • 3

    Scheduled Service Visits

Our technicians perform routine maintenance and monitoring on a defined schedule (weekly, monthly, quarterly) based on system complexity and site requirements. Service reports are submitted after each visit.

  • 4

    Continuous Improvement

Performance data is reviewed regularly to identify trends, optimize system operation, and plan equipment replacements or upgrades before failures occur. Annual O&M plan reviews ensure the program evolves with changing site conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What O&M services does Fliteway provide for remediation systems?
Fliteway provides comprehensive operations and maintenance services for environmental remediation systems, including those we designed and built as well as systems originally provided by other manufacturers. Our O&M scope includes routine system inspections, equipment maintenance (blower oil changes, belt replacements, filter changes), performance monitoring and data collection, chemical replenishment, GAC change-outs, system optimization, troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and regulatory compliance reporting. We develop site-specific O&M plans that define inspection frequencies, maintenance tasks, spare parts inventories, and performance benchmarks.
Can Fliteway take over O&M for a system we did not purchase from you?
Yes. We regularly take over operations and maintenance for remediation systems originally designed and built by other equipment suppliers. Our engineers perform a system assessment to understand the existing equipment, controls, operating parameters, and maintenance history. We then develop an O&M plan tailored to the specific system configuration and site requirements. In many cases, we identify operational improvements or equipment upgrades that enhance system performance and reduce operating costs after taking over O&M responsibilities.
How does Fliteway handle emergency repairs and system downtime?
We understand that remediation system downtime can affect regulatory compliance and project timelines. Our O&M programs include defined response times for emergency service calls, typically within 24-48 hours depending on site location and contract terms. We maintain a parts inventory for common failure items (motors, belts, bearings, gaskets, fuses, contactors) and stock critical spare parts specific to each system under our O&M program. For extended equipment failures, we can deploy rental equipment from our fleet to maintain system operation while permanent repairs are completed.
Does Fliteway provide remote monitoring for remediation systems?
Yes. Many of our O&M programs include remote monitoring capabilities through cellular-connected PLC systems and SCADA platforms. Remote monitoring allows our engineers to track system performance parameters (flow rates, pressures, temperatures, run hours), receive alarm notifications, adjust operating setpoints, and troubleshoot issues without a site visit. This reduces response time, improves system uptime, and provides continuous performance data for regulatory reporting and system optimization.
